Beyond the Classroom: Electives (K-8)
Students at Villa maintain well-rounded and challenging schedules in core subjects such as math, language arts, social studies, religion and science. In addition to these, students in kindergarten through eighth grade enjoy electives at Villa Maria Academy.
Students are able to try out new courses that enrich their learning experiences further while collaborating with students in other grades at specific grade levels. Students participate in activities such as glass-fusing, Zumba, STEM, and arts and crafts. Most importantly, electives provide opportunities for students to develop interests and abilities outside of the academic classroom. The benefits extend beyond the actual elective focus to include the opportunity to collaborate with peers and moderators.
The elective courses are taught by Villa teachers, who bring their own passion for art, literature, language and special hobbies to the elective curriculum. Electives at Villa Maria Academy meet once a week for six weeks in each of the three trimesters.
Villa Maria Academy is the total package for your child’s grade school education! Our girls have learned to be independent, confident, young people who love to learn and love their school. Villa Maria teaches to the whole girl – beyond her academics.” – The Aleardi family, P ’21, ’24
