Preschool and PreK Students Celebrate Dino Day
Preschool and PreK students of Villa Maria Academy’s Early Learning Center ended their letter “Dd” theme week with a Dinosaur Day Celebration complete with Dino Chicken Nuggets and Dino Bones (carrot sticks) for snack!
The PreK learned all about the job of a paleontologist. They even put some of those important skills into action as they pretended to be paleontologists in a Dino Dig! They dug for clues to put together the bones of a Stegosaurus! It was hard putting all their plates in order! They stenciled and painted their t shirts and made up their own dinosaur hats for the party.
The Preschool students have been learning to identify the letters in their names. They made DINO- Mite first name letter match games to to help them to practice recognizing the letters in their names. They have enjoyed looking for letter fossils in their science center, and learned from first hand experience that fossils are very fragile. They also explored maps and sorted bones in their dramatic play center and painted dinosaurs and counted dinosaur teeth! For the party, the students made Triceratops hats to celebrate.
The students had a wonderful time and thank you to all the parent volunteers for assisting with the celebration.
