Celebrating Pi Day
Fourth Grade celebrated Pi Day with some fun activities!! First they watched a Dr. Seuss video about Pi Day. Then in math class, students graphed the digits of pi using a bar graph format. Once their pi-line skyline was created, the girls colored in their buildings and sky. They really enjoyed making a pi-line skyline.
5th graders read Sir Cumference and the Dragon of Pi, wrote “Piems” (these are poems where the girls had to use the digits of Pi to write a poem), 5th and 6th graders used a string to measure the circumference of many circular objects, find their diameters, and then using those two numbers find the relationship to Pi. And 8th graders created the Pi Skyline. They graphed a city skyline using the digits of Pi.
