Parent Guild Hosts Virtual Oyster Shucking Fundraiser for Villa

This year, Villa Maria Academy Lower School’s Parent Guild Team hosted our biggest fundraiser of the year pandemic style! On March 27 they held a Virtual Oyster Shucking Party hosted by renowned Chef Rifko Meier. In a one hour Zoom, guests learned how to shuck and prepare their own oysters! Tickets included the oysters and all the tools for shucking, and were delivered to their homes the day before the event. $50 for every ticket sold was donated directly to Villa Maria Academy, and for those guests that could not attend, monetary donations were accepted. Everyone had a fun night of learning and enjoyed delicious food! Thanks to Chef Rifko for a great lesson and to our Parent Guild for hosting this fun, community building event!
