Varsity Field Hockey Team Mentors 1st and 2nd Graders

Last Thursday, Villa’s Varsity Field Hockey Team mentored and coached girls in grades 1 and 2 about the sport. The younger girls participate in a field hockey team through an outside organization and hold their practices on Thursdays. The Varsity Team volunteered to teach the girls more about the sport and help instill discipline, goal setting and sportsmanship.

“This is so positive for the girls. It says so much for these girls that they want to be a part of something and be part of a tradition. They are not only learning to give back to their communities, but are gaining leadership experience as well. And sharing that team spirit helps to provide a support group that is like family. We are very proud of them.”
