Fourth Grade Celebrate Women and Girls in Science Day with Projects and Guest Speakers

February 11 was International Women and Girls in Science Day! This day is a reminder that women and girls play a critical role in science and technology communities and that their participation should be strengthened.

The 4th grade celebrated last week with their Women in Science projects. Each girl choose a woman in science either from history or that she knew personally, researched her accomplishments, and presented her findings to the class.

Fourth grade was also visited virtually last Friday by two guest speakers, Dr. Burigatto and Dr. Hahn, who are moms to two of our fourth grade girls. They each spoke a little about their careers, and took the girls on a virtual tour of the hospitals where they work in celebration of Women in Science Day! What a fun morning!
