Villa Maria Hosts Field Day and Celebrates 145th Anniversary
On Wednesday, May 24, Villa Maria Academy Lower School students enjoyed a beautiful day outside for the first inaugural Field Day! The school was split into 4 teams with students from each grade level. Students competed in levels first, before ending the day with a hula hoop game involving teams of Kindergarten through Eighth graders. The game required a lot of patience and cooperation amongst peers, but the girls worked great together. Everyone had such a fun time and showed great sportsmanship, teamwork and school spirit.
Congrats to the Eighth grade on their victory over the teachers and volunteers in tug-of-war, and congrats to the blue team on their win for the day. All the girls played so hard!
To celebrate Villa’s 145th anniversary, the day ended with a speech from Villa’s principal honoring the history, as the students sang “Happy birthday to Villa” and enjoyed dessert and dancing.
Villa Maria Academy empowers young women through leadership and service in the IHM tradition. As a Catholic elementary school, Villa is committed to the moral and spiritual growth of each student.
