Villa Begins Year with Phased-In Re-opening

Despite the challenges that the pandemic has placed on schools, Villa was able to deliver an exceptional educational experience without pause this spring. Both teachers and students embraced the spirit of a Villa education through live classes, audio and visual presentations, virtual breakout rooms, conferencing with teachers, and collaborating with one another. We are truly blessed to be able to offer our students dynamic on campus and virtual experiences this fall as well.

In order to provide an environment where all students could feel comfortable and one in which our protocols and procedures could be tested, Villa employed a phased-in approach to school entry before welcoming students in preschool through eighth grade back for in-person classes five days a week.

The week of September 1, Villa welcomed students back for three orientation days so students had the opportunity to meet their teachers and for those starting virtually at home, gain access to their materials before school began on September 8. Students also received guidance for online learning during on the orientation day.

Villa welcomed back one-two new grades per day starting September 8 for in-person instruction beginning with preschoolers and kindergartners. Students that did not begin on September 8 for in-person learning met their teachers for online learning each day until their scheduled day to begin in-person instruction. All students report to school on September 17.

There have been many safety measures put into place to keep our students and staff safe. We are grateful to the VMA COVID Task Force team for working to align the recommendations of the CDC, PA Dept of Education and Chester County Health Dept. with daily life at Villa for our re-opening plan. Everyone has worked very hard to make a return to school possible.
