On May 15, the Sixth grade girls participated in their annual Heritage Day. Each of the girls researched the country of their heritage and created a display representing different cultural elements, such as holidays, sports, government, religion, and food. They then brought in good from their country and dressed in a traditional costume while giving a short presentation about their own personal customs and traditions related to their chosen country. Afterward, they celebrated each other’s heritages with family and friends by tasting the foods they brought in.
“It was a wonderful celebrations of our students’ diversity and family traditions!” said Mrs. Fox, Middle School Social Studies Teacher.
