Last week, the Third grade girls worked with Finch robots, the newest addition to the Villa Maria family of tech tools. In today’s class period the girls worked in groups and wrote block scripts to instruct their Finches to move in a variety of ways. They used Snap! Programming platform and familiarized themselves with a range of commands.
After the girls were comfortable making their scripts, Mrs. Bellopede challenged them to “make their finch dance.” At the end of the lesson, they reflected on what they were most proud of during their experiment. Villa’s commitment to integrate technology to inspire girls to collaborate and innovate will help to prepare the girls on their educational journey as well as for a world not yet realized.
