Eighth Grader Writes Award-Winning Speech
Eighth grader, Lia O. wrote her speech, The Power of Perseverance, as an original oratory for a Forensics Competition. “An original oratory piece has to be persuasive or motivational in nature and has to be between four and seven minutes in length,” said Mrs. Donna Anuszewski, Forensics Moderator. Lia performed her speech for the first time at Ancillae-Asumpta Academy on March 5. “She actually scored first place in all her preliminary rounds and scored first place in the tournament overall,” said Mrs. A. “And this was her first time giving this speech at a Forensics Competition. She had never competed an original oratory previous to this time.”
Congratulations Lia!
