Preschool and PreKindergarten
Villa Maria Academy’s Preschool was created as a place to educate the whole child.
Each age-appropriate activity provides a calm and nurturing learning environment that facilitates positive social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development. Our caring teachers create a safe environment for children to apply their newly learned skills.
Through music, circle time, learning centers and sensory rich activities, the children explore a new letter of the alphabet and number each week! Use of the Handwriting Without Tears program enables children to learn proper techniques for printing as they enjoy songs and rhymes for each letter.
The theme-based Houghton Mifflin Splash Into PreK curriculum is used to introduce concepts in language, math, social studies, and science.
Villa Maria Academy uses SMART interactive boards to engage students in 21st century learning. Each classroom is equipped with a SMART board.
Each day brings many opportunities for the children to develop a love for God and learn how to be a good friend following Jesus’ way of kindness with others. The students also attend special all-school liturgies in Sacred Heart Chapel with the entire school community. Here the young children begin to learn about a community of faith.
These early learners are also active participants in Spanish, music, library, art, and physical education added value classes. These classes offer experiences to explore various topics with our different instructors.
Students have access to all of Villa Maria Academy facilities and resources, including the full-time school nurse. Click here for Nurse Information.
We value education and want our daughter to be academically challenged, confident, kind and to experience many friendships. Villa’s all-girl experience partnered with the strong Catholic values and traditions are instrumental in forming the young lady she will become. Villa teachers focus on accommodating the needs of the individual student as well as building a strong school community and sisterhood.” – The Cappiello family
