Eighth and First Grades Visit the Philadelphia Zoo for Annual Big Sister Little Sister Field Trip

The first and eighth grades form a special bond through the Big Sister Little Sister Program at Villa. Each eighth grader is paired with a first grader to mentor and lead through the year through. The girls participate in a special activity at the Family Mass and Picnic, take a joint field trip in the fall, celebrate Christmas together, and have a picnic in the spring.

On October 13, the girls went on their annual Big Sister Little Sister field trip to the Philadelphia Zoo!

While at the zoo, the girls rode on the camels, got their faces painted, and went to visit “Taffy” also known at the Philadelphia Zoo as “Stella” the giraffe.

“This is an event that the 8th graders love doing with their little sisters because it is a fond memory for many of them when they were in first grade,” said Mrs. Fox. It is special Villa tradition that the girls will keep with them forever.”
