Au Pair Shares Welsh Culture with Second Grade
On January 27, Sinead O’Grady, Au Pair to the Meriwether family, visited the Second Grade to talk about all that is unique to her, her cultural exchange experience and share her Welsh culture with the girls.
Sinead shared some basic demographic information about Wales and touched on geography including the makeup of the UK countries.
She talked to the girls about unique features of Wales including the very high sheep population and the high number of castles. She showed some artifacts as well. One of which was a Rugby jersey. She explained to the girls that Rugby is very popular in Wales and the national team is very good.
She did an online quiz with the girls on Welsh terminology and gave each girl a Welsh flag to color at the end.
We would like to thank the Meriwether family and Sinead for sharing this experience with the girls.
