Book Tasting in Sixth Grade
On Tuesday, October 4, the Sixth grade participated in a “book tasting” for Mrs. Klinger’s ELA class. “I’m setting up table cloths and placemats like a nice restaurant in the classroom,” said Mrs. Klinger. Each table consisted of four books, and the students were given ten to fifteen minutes with each book to write down their thoughts.
“The idea is to expose the girls to books they might not think to read on their own” said Mrs. Klinger. “The girls read twenty-four choice books in Sixth grade, so it’s important to let them know what’s out there. It is my hope that each student came away from this fun experience with at least one book she’d like to read in the future. “
