Celebrating Ash Wednesday and the Beginning of Lent

This week we celebrated Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the Lenten season. We were reminded during our Ash Wednesday Prayer Service that Lent is a time for us to change our hearts by doing penance, almsgiving or extra prayer so that we can grow closer to God. Sister Patricia visited the 3’s and PreK students to distribute ashes in their classrooms. After the students received their ashes, Sister asked them to look in the mirror and say out loud, “I am growing in God’s love.”
