Celebrating Founder’s Day
On November 10, the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary celebrated their founding by Father Louis Gillet and Mother Theresa Maxis in Monroe, Michigan. In celebration, the Villa community gathered for an afternoon prayer service together in Sacred Heart Chapel. We are so grateful for our IHM academy and for the presence, service, and influence of our IHM Sisters. Happy Founder’s Day!

Sister Renee also met with classes to educate the students on the IHM Founder’s Day during her religious enrichment lessons. She read the book, An Amazing Adventure, by Sister Patricia Dailey, that recounts the history of the IHM Sisters, as well as shared stories about the founders and the beginning of an academy for young ladies, now Villa Maria.
On Founder’s Day, the girls in fifth grade visited the Sisters at the Motherhouse to help celebrate their Founder’s Day! The girls entertained the Sisters with a story of their founding, and their song, Praise, Love, Thanksgiving.
