Celebrating Women and Girls in Science
To help celebrate International Women and Girls in Science Day (February 11) this week, the fourth grade honored this day by presenting their Women in Science projects. After learning about the United Nations Women and Girls in Science Program, students prepared reports on women scientists and even had the chance to interview women who they know personally that are currently working in a scientific field. They presented their research this week to their peers, and today, presented to parents and special guests.
Natalie Morgan, a forensic molecular biologist and Wilhelmina’s aunt, also visited to speak to the fourth grade about forensic science. The girls asked wonderful questions! We are grateful to her for sharing her expertise in the field of science with the girls.
