Class of 2016 Celebrates Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation
On June 9, the Eighth Grade students of Villa Maria Academy celebrated their Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation in the Villa Maria House of Studies’ Sacred Heart Chapel.
Rev. John Joseph Novielli, O. Praem, of Daylesford Abbey was the celebrant of the Mass, and fondly recalled the girls in their younger years here at Villa during his homily.
After the service, Sister Susan Joseph, IHM, Principal of Villa Maria Academy and Sister Nancy Kindelan, IHM, Assistant Principal, presented diplomas to the members of the Class of 2016. Awards for honors were also distributed following the diplomas.
President of the Student Leadership Team, Angelina S., addressed classmates, faculty and staff, and guests, about the importance of living out the IHM Charisms of Love, Creative Hope and Fidelity and their relationships over the years.
The ceremony ended with the Class of 2016’s dedication song to their parents, “We Are One,” followed by the Alma Mater, which faculty, staff, and alumnae joined in singing.
Students, faculty and guests were then welcome to take pictures and invited to the gymnasium for light refreshments before heading out with their families to celebrate.
