Kindergartners Visit Apple Store and Learn to Create iMovies
On May 10, Villa’s Kindergarten class visited the Apple Store for a out-of classroom experience with technology. This free program offers students a fun learning experience focused on collaboration and creativity. The girls got to partner with each other and the team of Apple Geniuses to create an iMovie using Apple’s Macbook Pros and import photos, videos, titles, transitions, and audio. Students used Apple’s library of photos and videos and were so excited to find photos of the African Safari as they were putting them together.
“We are studying a unit on the Serengeti right now in class,” said Kindergarten Teacher, Miss Beck, “and they kept finding pictures and saying ‘I know what that is! We just learned about that!’ It was such a blast! They learned everything so quickly and kept wanting to do more. And we were told they were a hit at the store!”
The girls received t-shirts, certificates, and a USB wrist band that they were able to save their movie onto and take home to show their families.
