Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive Begins

Each year, Villa’s 8th grade Student Leadership Team partners with Nutritional Development Services and The Community Food Drive, as an extension of the service and mission of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to collect peanut butter and jelly jars. Nutritional Development Services provides meals, food assistance, and additional support to organizations that serve children or the poor.

At Villa, service learning helps students to build character by allowing them to foster and develop personal values, beliefs, awareness, confidence and a sense of empathy and social responsibility. Students learn to understand the impact of the individual on the local and global community.
