Robotics Begins in 8th Grade

Last week, the 8th graders began programming their LEGO Mindstorms Robots. Mrs. Bellopede encouraged the girls to play around with the programming to make the robot play music, make a face, or produce sounds.

Students will be learning to design, program and control fully-functional models and robots that carry out life-like automated tasks. Villa Maria Academy acquired the LEGO Robotics kits for students in grades K-8 last year to engage students in all grades with real-world engineering by challenging them to build LEGO-based robots to complete tasks.
