Seventh Grade Sponsors Hoops for Holga Fundraiser

At recess and before school this week, our seventh grade has been holding their annual Hoops for Holga fundraiser, a bucketball tournament to benefit a sponsored child, Holga, from Guatemala, who needs help with basic and special needs – part of their service learning for religion class. Over the past few years, Villa students have helped to fund a new wheelchair for Holga a tin roof on her family’s home and a tutor. Thank you to Mrs. Buck and the 7th grade for their leadership in bringing together a community of support for Holga and her family.

Leadership and joyful service are visible signs of our commitment to selfless relationships characterized by respect, reverence, empathy, compassion, and concern.

Congratulations to the seventh grade Hoops for Holga bucket-ball fundraiser winners! Thank you to all who participated and donated! The seventh grade raised $850 for Holga.
