Seventh Grader Wins Scholastic Art & Writing Award

Congratulations to seventh grader, Makenna W.  on winning the gold medal award for a short story in the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition.

A panel of teachers, writers, literary professionals, and Penn graduate students selected Makenna’s work among the many outstanding works submitted by her peers as the most exceptional in her region. Makenna’s submission was among 1,050 in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. Works earning Gold Keys are forwarded to the national judging of The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in New York City. All Gold Key works from across the country will be reviewed by nationally and internationally renowned writers. Congratulations Makenna
