Students Gather for Prayer Partner Prayer Service
Yesterday, the Villa community gathered in Chapel for a very special tradition at Villa – the Prayer Partner Prayer Service. Each year, Villa holds a Prayer Service in Sacred Heart Chapel where students choose the name of another student to be their prayer partner. The program provides older students the opportunity to gain responsibility while keeping them connected to the younger grades. It also provides the younger students the opportunity to develop a special relationship with an older student who can serve as a role model and friend. “It gives us an opportunity to bond with the younger girls and learn more about them,” says Vanessa L., 8th grader. Throughout the year, prayer partners pray for each other and get together for various activities including reading, community service projects, and celebrating sacraments and holidays.
Villa’s faculty and staff also choose prayer partners to pray for and celebrate life’s events and achievements, and help co-workers get to know more about one another. “It is my favorite Villa Tradition,” says Betty Veneziale, 5th grade Teacher at Villa.
This tradition brings our Villa Family closer together. Even though prayer partners change each year, the relationships developed between each are special and lasting. “Once a prayer partner, always a prayer partner,” says Sister Margaret, Director of Music Activities.
