During Lent, the Third Grade students at Villa together with their families collected school supplies for the IHM Family Literacy Center.
The IHM Family Literacy Center provides an early learning center for toddlers from three to five years old and provides their mothers with instruction in English as a second language, parenting support, life skills, citizenship, computer skills and participates in the MOTHEREAD national literacy program.
On May 1, Sister Bernadette and Sister Jean, of the Center visited Villa to collect the donations from the students and speak to them about who their donations were going to. The Third graders then helped to load the boxes and bags of supplies into the Sisters’ car.
Thank you to the Third Grade and their families for all their support as we encourage the students to give back to their communities.
