Third Graders Create New Organisms

Third Graders have spent the past few weeks learning about organisms and their environments. Last week, the girls went to the computer lab to investigate different animals and what adaptations they use to help them survive in their environments.

They then created “new organisms” that had various adaptations, including some they had learned about through their investigation. Each girl then wrote a paragraph that introduced their organism, naming where it lives and the adaptation it uses. To conclude their presentation, the girls will use the app Telegami, to help present their new organism. Tellagami is a mobile app that lets you create and share a quick animated video called a Gami. The girls will be able to create themselves as a character to narrate their introduction of their new organism.
