*Update* Villa Student Moves on to Chester County Spelling Bee
On Wednesday, February 1, Villa Maria Academy held the final round of the Spelling Bee. Eighth grader, Molly K. was the spelling champion, after correctly spelling “pernicious” in the final round of the school spelling bee. **Update**: Second place champion Jordi D. will will now represent Villa Maria Academy in the Chester County Spelling Bee held at the Chester County Intermediate Unit on February 22, as Molly K. will be unable to attend.
The Villa Maria Academy Spelling Bee was held for Grades 5-8 on Monday, January 30. There were 18 participants in the competition. Two 6th grade students, Jordi D. and Makenna W. and 8th grader Molly K. were the last contestants in the final round. The girls were very well prepared. We are so proud of these girls and all the competitors for their dedication and effort.
The 2017 Chester County Spelling Bee is sponsored by the Chester County Intermediate Unit and is open to all students enrolled in a Chester County public, private, parochial or home school through eighth grade who meet Scripps’ requirements for participation. The Chester County Spelling Bee is a qualifying bee for the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
