Mission Day Raises Over $2K for Charity
On October 31, Villa Maria Academy hosted its annual Mission Day event. Mission Day is a tradition at Villa Maria Academy where the eighth graders host a celebration on Halloween to raise money in support of a local charity. This year, Mission Day raised $2,150 from the support of students and their families.
During Mission Day, the eighth grade students dress in costume based on the theme of the event, host games, offer face painting, stories, karaoke and prizes at the gift walk. The funds collected from the event will go to benefit a local charity that will be chosen by the eighth grade students and their teachers. Canned goods were also collected for the needy as each child’s entrance fee into Mission Day.
Thank you to the eighth grade students and their teachers for planning such a fun morning for our school. And thank you to all the parents volunteers who assisted with the event. And to the many families who contributed with donations and gifts, we truly appreciate your support. Mission Day is just one of many ways Villa Maria Academy is committed to empowering young women to give back and assume roles in their local community.
