All women are capable of accomplishing incredible feats. However, success manifests itself in many forms…
The Villa Quiz Brings Home a Trophy
Over the weekend, the Villa Quiz team competed with 13 other teams from as far away as Connnecticut at The Charter Challenge, held at The Charter School of Wilmington in Deleware.
The girls performed spectacularly, and worked so well as a team together. In Team A was Karenna R., Alexis O., Libby K., Cici B. and Allie G. Team B had Jordi D., Lisa E., Makenna W., Haley G. and Maddie M. Team B placed third and and Team A placed fourth in the tournament. Team captains, Karenna R. and Jordi D., got individual medals, 5th and 7th place, respectively, but the teams would not have gotten as far as they did had they not all contributed and collaborated.
In the morning, each team faced off against another team in four matches in which the opponents were randomly selected among the division. The afternoon was playoffs. After three rounds, the two teams ended up facing off against each other! It was just like practice, only a little more intense!
It is spectacular that in their first year as a team and in their first ever competition, the Villa Quiz Team won two medals and a trophy for 3rd place, as well as a fourth place finish! Their hard work since October paid off! Huge thanks to Sister Nancy and Sister Susan for their unwavering support from start to finish, and to Mrs. Veneziale for the use of her room for the weekly practices and to Coach Maria and Coach Theresa for their dedication to the team.
