Sixth Graders Celebrate Cultural Diversity
On February 26, the sixth grade girls participated in their annual Heritage Day. Each of the girls researched the country of their heritage and created a display representing different cultural elements, such as holidays, sports, government, religion, and food. Students dressed in a traditional costume and gave a short presentation about their own personal customs and traditions related to their chosen country. Afterward, they celebrated each other’s heritages with family and friends by tasting foods from each students’ country.
“I am so very proud!,” said Mrs. Fox, Middle School Social Studies Teacher. This year, our girls represented 18 countries on 4 different continents. It was a wonderful celebration of our students’ cultural diversity and a great way for the girls to share and bond over their family traditions!”
