JV Soccer Holds Team Book Drive
The JV Soccer Team recently conducted a service project with the Maternal and Child Health Consortium of Chester County. Maternal and Child Health Consortium (MCHC) has worked for more than 17 years to help pregnant and parenting women in Chester County access the health insurance, health care, health education, emotional support, and community resources they need to ensure that their children have the opportunity to start healthy, stay healthy, and succeed in school. The organization asked if the girls would help with a fall book drive for new or gently used children books (ages 0-6). Each of the JV players donated books, whether new or from around their house. Together, the girls collected over 350 books for the Maternal and Child Health Consortium of Chester County. What a huge accomplishment and what a tribute to the families and girls at Villa Maria Academy. Mrs. Walko will work with the organization to deliver these books and “in turn,” she said, “they will be able to share our gift of words and reading to families throughout Chester County!”
