Leadership Workshop Teaches Importance of Teamwork
Last week, during their monthly Leadership Workshop meeting, the girls in Kindergarten through Second Grade focused on Habit 6 of The 7 Habits of Happy Kids by Sean Covey: Synergize.
They met as a group to discuss why working together is better because we can create better solutions together than alone. Thank you to our middle school students from the GCAL Varsity Basketball Team and 8th Grade students working on their SeaPerch projects who created fun and engaging videos for the girls telling them how working as a team helped them focus on their goal.
In break-out groups with their teachers, the girls discussed the importance of team work and collaboration and focusing on their strengths before circling back again together to discuss their ideas as a bigger group.
The K-2 Leadership program is based on Sean Covey’s book, The 7 Habits of Happy Kids. Sean Covey believes that the 7 Habits are leadership qualities all students can learn and that developing these leadership skills will prepare students for the future.
